Furthermore, during the rise in popularity of these courses, employment opportunities in India were predominantly concentrated around public sector companies such as ITI, HMT, HAL, and BEL, which specialized in testing or assembly of electronic devices, as well as SSIs, small companies engaged in the production of engineering tools or components.
